I had more fun last weekend. I took the ABS module out as I was getting Traction control and Stability control errors and sometimes the car did not have these as well as ABS, to fix it. Makes driving more fun
Anyway, it took out, replaced a relay and put it back together. It took longer than I expected, about 11 hours, about half due to not remembering which mounting hole I already had a screw in (I could not see 4 of the 6 mounts). Plus I had to find a screw that fell, multiple times (even with towels under the area before it hit any car parts to bounce on) while putting back in. So all in all it should have taken about 3 to 4 hours, including taking the module apart, fixing and putting back together and letting the new gasket dry. I bought a snake camera (it should arrive tomorrow) and I now have the tools I need (to fit the tight spots) so if I have to do this again it should only take 1 to 2 hours.
Well that did not fix the problem so I did even more research on the problem, some said it could be the battery. I bought a tester and it tested fine, so I took it to Autozone and it was still ok. So I bought a quick/trickle charger and now the errors have not come back (knock on wood). So it was either due to a low battery (was not driven much over the winter) or the battery is not as strong as it appears (less than 2 years old) or the alternator is not charging properly. Only time will tell, but every night the car goes on the charger. This again seems to be a common trend within the Vette community.
Wish me luck.
