After reading your post, I have to say that you brought me to see things from a different perspective.

I'll wait for your review and then take, IMO, a better decision.

Jugg, I dont buy FPS's on the PS3, I cant control them and it pisses me off. I was SOOOOOO looking forward to this game and with all the crap they are pulling, I can honestly say I will NOT be buying this game at launch. Cant say never, but I dont anticipate it as the ONLY way to show IW and any other developer that chooses to ignore there customers wants and needs is to hit them where it hurts and that is in teh wallet.

Thank goodness ill have L4D 2

They could give a shit about PC sales since there are way more consoles in the gaming world as we speak so more money to be had.

Also above I said console sheep, not derogatory but a reality, since online gaming with a console is relatively new they have no choice but to live with what they are dealt by the powers that be. So they have to follow blindly where the gods Sony,Microsoft lead them.

Altho it would be interesting that since we basically will be playing on a console (limited PC functionality) to be able to play against xbox live peeps and C if a controller is actually better than a mouse and Keyboard, without having a built in aimbot do all the work for you that is.

It just goes to show where gaming is heading, back in the day most gamers were power users and the fringe of technology rested on thier shoulders to lead the way in upgrading their machines to play the latest and greatest. Well, since the economy has gone the way it has, hardware sales and new gadgets arent moving off the shelves as they once did. I would imagine from a developers perspective that consoles has leveled the playing field as when you design a new application for a console, your essentially programming across the board due to hardware specs being the same. This in turn would make easier and cheaper to produce as well as quicker turn around time for release. I would imagine that in the future, eventuallly you will see a console/pc blend for gaming where everyone is integrated.

Cantina is correct in his observation about young Timmy with his newest rig he purchased from Best Buy, I would imagine when you design a game you are going to hit the market that has the most disposable income, the one that wants instant gratification and doesnt have time to screw around with .Ini files and working to customize a server. Out of all those servers you see in the browser, how many seem to be way empty a whole bunch?

To me the way of PC gaming has eliminated a fair portion of the communities PC gamers once started, as the software cmpanies were quickly learning that they were losing valuable dollars when allowing free content and the ability to add customization into the mix. Sure it promotes longevity in a very difficult market, but why would I employ 100+ people to work on the next title when the community is still going strong on a title that was developed and implemented 2 years ago? That type of scenario doesnt exactly bode well for new sales.

Now if they choose they can drop the support and alter the time line when they think the consumer should move on to the next title, instead of the other way around.
In essence we still have the core choice; Buy or not to buy.

That's highly unlikely will there be a bottleneck on PC game purchases since the landscape is pretty thin for decent titles. I see in the future PC gaming more for interactive MMO type situtations, as that's a cash cow that consoles cant touch right now and everything else created for a a console format.

Another thought occurred to me while I was writing this: When we all started gaming on the PC, how many consoles were out there? We're old school guys. If you wanted to play some thing cool that non linear storylines, had open ended content, you had your PC as the only thing that was out there since the PS2 or the Gamecube and no online interaction. The rules have changed.

Will I purchase MW2? Not really sure as for me it's all about investing time now. And if I choose to invest the time I want to make sure if I am sitting in front of the PC I want to get the best experience for that time spent.

I'll check it out when it releases and go from there.

Just my 0.2 cents. :chef:

You can get Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust for less than $10 now. And it's marginally worth it. At least the voice overs of Jay Mohr, Patrick Warburton, Shannon Elizabeth and Carmen Electra are funny. Oh and they forgot the nudity. Other than that don't expect stellar game play.

BOT, I'll probably get MW2, for the single player if for nothing else. Wouldn't be the first time I got a game no one else in F8 is playing. I doubt it'll be at launch and I'll wait until someone has it on sale for at least $10 - $20 bucks off, or ask Santa to get it for me for Christmas.

For those looking for an AMAZING gaming experience, there is nothing out there that can compare to Borderlands. I have logged MMO type hours playing this game. Graphics 9, Syle 10, fps gameplay 9, replayability 9. It does have 4 player coop which is also fun. But if your looking for a really unique FPS you cant go wrong....especially if you were planing on buying MW2 and have changed your mind and now you have disposable cash :-)

Hey guys! Long time, just though I'd fill you in on how the MW2 has been for me so far.

The game itself is very good. There's plenty of neat ideas, and while there's a lot of "Well damn, I guess I died and there was nothing I could do about it because of that Predator Missle/Harrier" business, it's still fun. But I think we all knew that the game would be decent.

As for the multiplayer system, it's so-so. If you have a small group of friends, being able to party up and pick a mode to play in is nice, although you have to unlock game modes which seems sort of ridiculous to me. Level 17 just to play Hardcore? Nonetheless, it matches you up very quick, and you all get to play on the same team and go right in.

When the game starts though, it gets hairy. They don't show latency as a number anymore, instead it's just bars, which is shady. The sprint lag that showed up in Cod4 on a really bad server is back; you can't just tap sprint, you gotta hold it for a full second or more or get popped right out of it. The bullet detection doesn't seem right, and while I'm no expert on CoD, I have a good grip on latency, and it feels like I'm playing with 100-150 ping all the time. This is fine for consoles, but not at all for PC. And this i all assuming that the server picks a good host, which isn't all the time. Imagine a home broadband connection hosting a 12 person listen server on said connection, and it's pretty much what you'd expect.

If you can stomach the mediocre ping, then there's fun to be had. I've had some good times so far partying up with my friends and going into games, and the guns are all pretty good. But at 60$, honestly it's overpriced.
