I'm still at it. Now after doing more research online I think I have it nailed down. Looks like the ignition switches (not the lock) go bad. When I checked the fuses for the modules not working I do not see the battery voltage. When working I do. When in ACC and on modes I should see the battery voltage.

Here's the link to what has lead me to my next step.

In stead of taking the switch apart I bought one for $54. It's not worth my time at this point to fix it. I'll do that later to have a backup.

If this is it I'll have this solved next weekend.

On a side note. The wife and I took it out for a drive on Friday before some errands. There is a fun S-turn on one of the roads. When I'm first at the light I like to take it as fast as I can. Well this time I had completed the first turn and was seeding up to the second (this part is on a hill). Come down the hill there are three motorcycle cops sitting at the second turn :!: :o . Well the brakes were applied and I drove past them without them stopping me    .

Well my car's interior is in pieces. The switch is out and I see the same burn marks the link I included did.

I'm happy    I have correlation to the link and my failure.

I'll have it put back together next weekend.

Wow, what a pain! I know it feels good to solve a problem though!

It's fixed.

Can you tell I'm happy?

5 hours total and $54 (not counting the false leads).

There is nothing more satisfying than the completion of a project like that and have it all work right

Took out both seats this morning and repaired the rocking seats, another known C5 issue.

Next on the agenda is normal maintenance. Replace belts and pulleys, fuel pump, transmission filter/fluid and diff fluid. Once these are complete I should not have to do anything until the next oil change.

It's looking like time to supercharge it.
