Postby DrDemented =8= » Mon May 30, 2005 12:23 pm

My father in law was in the marines and he loves to get USMC items. Well I found him a sword for fathers day and I am just curiose about it. I believe it is and original but I am not sure.... it has a stamp on the back of the blade marked pakistan which was where it was made. It hase a yellow tassel on it... do any of you know what that means, is it a cirtain rank?? It is an NCO sword that much I know. Here are some pics of it and if anyone can give some input on it that would be cool. I am a sword lover myself and would like to know as much about it as possble!!! Thanks guys!

Most military items have a stamped number that can be traced. If it was actual government issue. If it was made by a third party it would be harder to trace.

I am not military but there are quite a few databases out there that would at least get you closer to figuring out it's origin.

Well I can help ya some. It is a Replica I'm afraid due to the fact that Offical NCO swords are Handcrafted in Toledo Spain. Being made in pakistan makes this a Show sword only...I am sorry to give this news to you, but I am sure you would rather know the information like you had asked.

None the less this is a great gift for any Marine and the fact that you got it for your father shows him that you not only love him but that you honor the fact that he served his country.

Tell your fater I said

BTW sorry for the late post been awhile since I have been here : )
